Just wondering something, If I have a chrome type fender guard/bumper would it as well act as a brace? Especially the heavy type. I do know there are chrome ones that incorporate al brace into the design, that is not the one I`m talking about..just the ones that go forward not up and over. I`m guessing it is better then nothing but maybe not as good as a brace, or maybe for the type of lollygagging around I do maybe I dont need one with the guard I have?
Thanks.

Sounds like the one on 1 of 75 GW's, It is made of solid steel and chromed. I think they used to to be called bumpers! It made a noticeable difference from not having it on. If I was more organized :lazy: I would have posted a pic!

I know what your talking about, the old classic bike fenders actually had a heavy steel brace with a steel fender tack welded on top. I havent looked under my plastic fender yet but I do not think there is a heavy steel support there, Maybe i`m wrong.
With the chrome bumper I`m talking about the ergonomics are different for support, Definetely not a fork brace as we know it but they do indeed act as a sort of brace, maybe enough for low speed performance..I really dont know.

No. It is not. Is the answer to your question! Get you a real fork brace, it is the only way to brace the flex in the forks, it really, really works.

There is a very good reason why Honda made them standard on the '83 model.
