No brace originally, they are an aftermarket performance item.
Those are your brake pad alignment clips.":3qk54900]
Ruh Roh. :help: I have a couple of extra pieces. :beg: These clips are small, under 2" each and I think they are brake related. Time to search the manuals. :laptop: Thanx, Dave
Perfect! Thanx, Dave":4wc2r597]
the clips install on the caliper support. picture obtained from haynes manual.
Less. And that included putting the chrome covers back in place. Took a short ride over to a friend's. Left side still was/is dragging. Quite hot at his house, back to even heat both sides back at my house. We'll see.":3668r6oy]
Put 'em in. Shouldn't take long at all. (30 minutes for both sides?)

I thought I would do a wrap-up report. Some were curious how 20W50 would behave as my fork oil. I've probably got 500 miles of experience now; a fair mix of city/country/highway. I'll remind you that I also replaced the springs with Progressives and that I have no air pressure in there. I can say with some surety that I like the firmness, very stable under all conditions. I do not find it harsh, but I do drive a tractor trailer for a living, so my standards of comfort might be skewed. Thank you all for the handholding during this little project. I'm sure it won't be the last. Dave
