Getting tires

I am looking at some tires and just wondering,are the rims on my 82 Aspencade tubeless ? I had lester wheels on my 75 and got tires installed,and they put tubes in ,charging me extra and telling me that "the rims dont say tubeless anywhere,so we had to install tubes" I am looking at Kenda 657 from JCWhitney,not a bad price for my limited budget,but I'm not going to order without tubes if I need em. 10 bucks extra for each.
