Harley bashing

Okay I know some here like and own Harley's. But really. Why? To me it sounds like a two cylinder hit&miss motor that gains some rpm. And the whole bike does a boogaloo at idle. I also know it's moniker of milwaukee vibrator is apt and well deserved but really folks. An expensive vibrator for your lady is around a hundred bucks. Why blow $30,000 or more on the Harley? Why don't cars run like Harley's? Because they couldn't give them away. I'll never see the attraction of riding a two wheeled jackhammer. :nea:

I rode a Sportster last week about 40 miles on the freeway.
The low end torque is nice.
Upshifts all happen down low, it has no top end.
How the hell do they stay together as long as they do with so much movement of the solidly mounted engine!?

Short answer? They don't. To be fair, tho, since Willie G took back over, the quality HAS improved in that regard, but they still suffer from vibration sickness.
I've had two Hardlys...a '74 'lectragluide(ex police bike), and a '76 Sporty. The 'Glide was otay for what it was, but the sporty was a pos. Haven't had any interest in one since, even tho I know they are a little more reliable now. Like V, I don't see the intrigue of riding an out-of-balance washing machine down the road. :nea: :headscratch:

Those Victory v - twins Dan and I rode were sweet, lots of power. I don't really have a problem with Harley's it's 98% of the owners... bunch of arrogant tools, especially the wives/girlfriends.

It seems like they bought membership in the bad behavior club. Although I do know a few that are okay people.

Last summer a Buel HD Sport bike came up on me on the Fwy, I was cruising around 65 mph ..when i seen him come up on me fast ...i gently dropped down to 4th gear , so now i am in boost and in my sweet spot ...he tries to pass next to me on the right lane ....WRONG ! Hammered the SC GL without The Nitrous , Front wheel came up and instant 100 + Mph So my wife on the back seat waves GOOD -BUY with her beautiful smile , i let off as fast as i hammered it , he finally rode along side US and gave a thumbs up...Its good to humble all my go fast stuff is concealed, Had a 110 cu Ultra try the same thing 2 months ago... same results, And a V-Max i was (Solo) this day pulled the trigger and pulled him by around 5 bikes..he was kinda pissed LMAO..

It's even more fun to taunt the boyz on the crotch rockets. Don't have to pass them or prevent them from passing just stay with them and they get upset.

Harley guys are a crack up.
I'm cruisin along enjoying the ride and weather, and a group of Guys get on the freeway.
They always seem compelled to accelerate past me and do a leaning gesture like they're bad ass.
I have nothing to prove to them.

You meet the nicest people on a Honda :BigGrin: Looking at a Indian this spring , not necessarily a new one , Really like the 2010 Power Plus Bottle cap Indian V twin , Peal white with Tan fringe leather seats bags ..Real American Iron , Polaris is putting a real hurt on HD sales now.

Pulled into a Pub on a hot summer day for a burger and a cold one..i tend to get on the fast lane and stay in front of traffic ..don't like the feeling of someone on my rear trying to run me over,,And i guess i passed a few people.....soooo..This guy dressed like it as Halloween all leather vest and chaps parks next to me with his wannabees also...They look at my GL and Says " I would rather Push my Harley than ride a Honda" made sure i heard him laughing , I looked at him and said ? When i passed you back on the Fwy ? I thought you guys were pushing your Harleys ???? :smilie_happy:

i toasted a screaming eagle harley one day ...we were two up on hooch with my daughter with me ...harley was one up ...hooch has got some low end torque that dosnt quit till redline ...it was fun...

Stopped by a guys house used to work with, he had sold his Jap bike & bought a used piglet ( Sportster). :roll: Pretty bike, has about 1200 miles on it, :good: was looking it over, saw a spot on the floor, & a line of an oil track above it. :whistling: Asked how long you had this leak? :mischief: He said WHAT LEAK, your crazy. :cheeky: Pointed at oil on bike, & he said, WASN'T LEAKING, till you got here, :rant: pointed at spot on floor. :hihihi: Asked me, where you think it came from? :headscratch: Answered, oil usually runs down hill, pointed at rocker area, said check the bolts are at least snug everywhere, & remember, things are different on a Harley. :smilie_happy:

:smilie_happy: hahaha..so true ! we have a ride group up here , every Sunday we meet @ noon and take off through New England about 5 bikes average, couple years ago i brought a small bottle of pancake syrup , nobody was looking they were all in a restaurant.....so i squirted a puddle of syrup right under the Primary drive on my buddies branny new HD Ultra ..he seen it as he walked up to ride ..i gave him about 5 minutes of bitching...then i showed him my syrup hahahaha ...he was gonna take it to the shop $$$ lol
