This June I got my 1200 out and found that my rear braked needed work.

Started bleeding the line and then found a leak at the Master Cylinder. So started tearing in to the bike to get the master cylinder off.

At the same time I was working on getting my 78 wing project on the road. So I put the 1200 off for a bit.

Well I finally had the time to work on the 1200 again and what I thought was caliper rebuild and a master cylinder rebuild turned into some thing else. Couldn't solve my problem as the air was out of the rear brake line and still no brakes.

Today I remembered that What about the front brakes ... Right side is connected to the rear. Stupid. Bleed the right front and guess what ... I now have brakes .. I wasted a lot of riding time thinking I had a worse problem. Oh well Autumn will be fun riding.

Yeah I hear you Rich.. Glad you got it figured out without spending a lot of cash on the wrong thing..... like replacing some electronic item that still did not work to find out it was the fuse....

I think we've all done stuff like that.
I have made so many bonehead moves I could never count them.
Trick is learning from it and having the courage to help others learn by them.

I still do bonehead stuff all the time! I wish I had a video camera watching me take the forks off to install new fork ear brackets to convert my bike back to Standard. I beat the daylights out of myself forcing the seals in and getting bloody fingers until I learned that you are SUPPOSED to tke the steering triple tree off and lower the brackets onto the forks and THEN put the seals in and tighten the triple tree down. I felt like an idiot!

(To make matters worse......I had even been complaining about how hard it was on this site in front of everyone.....only to find out I was doing it wrong!) :hihihi: :rtfm:

Not only do I normally FEEL stoopid...I prove it every day....just ask anyone... It's the same as spending 20 minutes looking for a dang wrench you KNOW you just had...and finding it in your hand... :Doh2:
