I never use the dunk method to clean a helmet that doesn't have a removable liner. dampen a rag with mild soap and water and wipe, the wetter you get it the longer it will take to dry. stuffing the inside of a helmet with news paper will get rid of the odor in time

The interior aroma of my full face is why the shield is usually open when riding.

I always wondered where that smell came from. That is a good article, my liner comes out, only mistake I have made is drying in the dryer.
