Hi everybody! Another So. Ca. 'winger here, and I hope to be here quite a bit!
I'm currently restoring an '83 Interstate that sat outdoors for at least 12 years, and it's been a real challenge! I restored a '75 back in the early 90's, and partially rebuilt an '80 last year, so I know my way around these old girls.
This one is a full down-to-the-frame estoration. I've taken every nut, bolt and screw out, unwound the wiring harness, rebuilt the entire brake system, and I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine and carbs. Fork, final drive and rear shock seals will be next. Once the cleaning is done, it's such a pleasure working on these machines!
I plan on posting pics soon, and I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and stories with all you good folks. :builder:
