Hi there, from good old Blighty! Had a 1982 GL1100c from new until it had to go when I bought my first house, big mistake, then had various bikes until 1991 when a dog ran out in front of me on Christmas Eve. 19 years and two divorces later, I bought a new naked CB1300 last year which is great, then while looking on e-bay, honestly just browsing, a few GL1100s come up, and my diamond of a partner suggested I bid on one. Didn't get one from there, but bought a 1980 Gl1100A, with a 1981 frame, as a project. Price of spares a bit of a shock, but as it's long term, I can do it when I can. Good to have so many forums to get help and advice, so no doubt our paths may cross even if it's just Hyper Space!

Welcome to the CGW Forums, Jon!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Hi again, thanks for all the welcome messages. Said it was a long term project, it's stopped before it started as we have the builders in for an extension. To much dust around and they want paying, so will have to wait a couple of months. Will keep an eye out for tips etc, and keep you all informed of any progress with photos.
One question with regards to the frame, paint or powder coat?
Jon
