I have an 83 gl1100

I am attempting to install a honda clock on my fairing. I currently have the clarion ll radio with cb installed. In the mess of wires there is a brown wire that I believe is for the backlight on the clock. It comes out of the fairing by the gauges and has a two bladed female end. The other end I traced to the plug is white female with green and brown wire. the brown wire (by previous owner) is about 3 inches and goes nowhere. They had a male plug on it.

Where can I connect this brown wire for the clock light to work. I know I will have to run a wire from this brown male but I do not now where to run it to. It needs to be hot when key on and cold when key off.

Any suggestions as to where to place the clock on the fairing. The cluster of gauges is full on the dash.

Thank you in advance for answering both of my questions

Would the running light part of the turn signals work?
I'm not sure if the running light turns off when the signal is on though.

The wiring diagrams are in the Gallery. Might have a look there.
