Have been assembling a 1987 Honda Goldwing GL1200 Aspencade that I purchased that was actually in pieces was completely disassembled and in plastic shipping totes. Anyway have it almost completed and converted to a trike but can not get cruise to work, the GRIP CANCEL SWITCH plate does not move when throttle is opened so the switch has continuity constantly. Can anyone explain how it works as all I see attached to it is the push cable. When it seems to me it should have some sort of pull to disengage the switch so there is no continuity @ that switch. Thanks in advance for all replies.

"GRIP CANCEL SWITCH plate". I've been trying to picture in my mind what this is. Can you post a picture. This is a picture of a switch I installed for the fan, but you can see the cruise control under it. Are you talking about this?
