Can I use it to top off with?..It is blue in color and says type 2 ,I have the green coolant now. They say you need to flush the system to use this coolant if you have another type but maybe they just want to sell you coolant.
That is the key here. There is the normal glycol and the ecofriendly types of antifreeze. There used to be some alcohol type of coolant way back. There may also be other types I'm unaware of. But if the type matches the brand or color shouldn't matter.[url=https://classicgoldwings.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=153897#p153897:1gy8smar said:Ansimp » Fri Jul 17, 2015 4:50 pm[/url]":1gy8smar]
Every coolant I have used advises against mixing different types. It may not be a problem but is it worth the risk, I would rather just add water and reduce the efficiency of the coolant until changing the lot out.
