For my 1200 cam project I need an electronic tach because the right cam doesn't have the fuel pump and tach drive.

Has anyone seen one?

I suppose the simplest would be one that get's it's signal from a plug wire.
I know in my Chevy V8 days these could be bought everywhere.

I'm half concidering going with a switch over to a 84 1200 ignition system.
The tach on a 84 Standard is like the 1100 and it's ignition box get's a vacuum signal for vacuum advance so this might be a better way to go since my vac advance is acting up also.
Availability and cost would be the deciding factor on this for sure. That and I'm not sure yet if the 1100 pickups are compatible and advance curve might be different.

Gotta do some research.

There are electronic tach and speedometer guages available but they are pricey. A car tach could be adapted. Cheapest would be a junkyard find. If you get one for a 4cyl just read half of what the tach indicates.

when i was looking for 1200 ignition stuff it was out of sight and off the table on my 1200 project ....an after market tack is probably the best path ...and a beaver rebuild on the 1100 ignition sounds cheap to me
