I snapped my muffler today!

I was enjoying a nice day riding the country roads today cruising at about 80-90 kmh (50mph) looking around and smacked a monster pothole. My right side muffler snapped at the weld where it meets the headpipe! I had a leak there for a while, and I guess it was just a matter of time before it failed. After all it was the original 29 year old exhaust. I was not far from home so I dipped my T-shirt in a water puddle and tied it together enough to get home. I removed the muffler and the headpipe and noticed the headpipe was shot as well! I will be looking for a new system real soon. I will post in the Wanted/For Sale forum.

That happened to me a while ago on my '77. That's what lead to me getting the Jardine system.

I noticed some systems on ebay for $400+ I am trying to find some used systems as well. I want to get some soon, I drive a Yukon and with these gas prices....I want to ride as much as possible this year.....all the way into early December if I can.

Check out the pipes Dan has. You can probably install the baffles from yours.

Thanks for the info guys, I found some used ones from a fella who runs GoldwingKing in Ontario. Just west of Toronto. He has a lot of Wing parts, he even had a chrome windshield trim that I was looking for. I should receive them early next week. I will be riding again by Wednesday. Derek. :clapping:
