I have ventured out and will pick up a 1981 gl1100 with some really cool hondaline bags. Getting this for a steal too.

Quick question on the carbs since i have never rebuilt or cleaned any. Since the bike is running, is there an easy clean for this without removing?
Thanks

yes use automatic trans fluid in gas ......about 6oz per full tank
Hopefully, maybe... if it runs. No guarantees judging by the looks of condition, that the carbs won't have to come out for a good cleaning.

If it's running decent the atf will clean them up and keep them clean. Be warned though if they are not right cleaners won't always help. Book says the jets cannot be removed for cleaning on those carbs. But they can be with a little ingenuity. I used drywall screws and diagonal cutters to pry mine out.

ATF or seafoam and ride it far or as often as possible, sometimes just riding them will clear up problems, but as slab said if they need a part cleaners wont help, if things seem to improve with miles then keep on riding it.

Amazing after all these years their still around to be found, :good: nice looking find. :hi:
