I'm still learning meself, and I been riding for over 30 years!
I have, on occasion, given other "newbies" tips, but I've never actually "taught" anyone. I don't have the patience.... :Awe:

I tought several backseat drivers how to ride dirt bikes....Had to do it from the back seat because when they got big enough to reach the handle bars from the tank seat they tried to decide where to gooooooooooo. :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

Haven't taught anyone to ride yet but I will be taking my son out as soon as I get us both a dirt bike.

I helped teach both my younger sisters to drive to handle the car in an emergency.
Fun too, we went out to the desert salt flats and had them get the car into a spin then recover.
They both tell me whenever they feel like the car is getting out of control in rain or snow and ice they think about those days in the desert over 30 years ago and how much it has helped.
Makes me feel good I might have helped them avoid trouble.

My kids are next :Egyptian:

I taught my little brother on my Honda S90. He was seven and actually was standing up instead of sitting and touching the pegs. We would ride around the neighborhood and he could take off, shift and everything. Was great fun.

I taught my kid in the mid 80's , on a 185 Suzuki , he could ride just fine... it was the starting out , and the stopping he had a problem with. he finally got so he would tack it up both feet on the ground and let go of the Clutch , and hand on..... :smilie_happy: ..... and when he wanted to stop , he would kinda slide and step off . . . . BUT , the key was just like when I taught him how to ride a Bicycle , we went to the School Ball Field , ( red clay dirt ) , no Concrete , no Pavement , and no Rocks. :smilie_happy:
