If theres ANYTHING in this life you can depend on,then it`s a well maintained GL 1100!I would(and have)ride my bike anywhere. It even starts easily and runs well at below freezing temps.Shes never let me down.130,000 km original motor.Uses NO oil and gets great gas mileage. One of if not THE best bike I`ve ever had(some 30 bikes).
well said smokey .....the only thing about these bikes thats hard to deal with is honda abandoning them with no parts or support what a completely discusting company to do such a thing .....
Joe, man your not kidding.its not just honda the company, its alot of the honda shop to.here in town my honds shop dose not want to tuch my bike.say its to old.and its the owner that dose want to.the parts guy there is so cool.when i tryed finding a 16"rim he crossed check all kind of bike.like my rotoe,he check to see what bike ran the same part number and then check to see if that bike used tha same calapers by checking part numbers and then to see if thay would mount to my forks .cant thank him enough and some to of the boys in the shop will come out to see if i done anything new to it.i have a BMW shop that fixes what i cant.thay like working on old bike.but like you said joe it really is ashame.I dont know if you guys know this but the old goldwings are making a big come back.ive called so many places. custome shops and custom parts, restoration shops and thay all say the same thing.the old goldswings is making a big come back.thay are in big demand.even the guys on ebay were i have gotten some parts.tell me that the goldwing is one of the top bike for part for them.one of them even told me he cant get up to 5 time more for the bike in parts the selling them out right.dont know if i can belive that but who know. You would think honda would be proud of this.had a guy on youtube that seen my bike and said i should send honda some pics of it to honda.i dont think honda would care at all about a goldwing with a harley fairing.but i think even if a goldwing would show up with only 40 miles on it and thats been kept in a museum it would not matter to them.that is were harley got it right.never forgot or gave up on the ones that went got there bikes.you can still go out and buy new parts for a 1946 panhead.no wounder some guys would not want any thing els then a harley.wether you like them or not.harley takes cair of their custamors.its guys like you and me and all are members and other forums(like NGW)who make it gret bike.and shops that are making new part or kites for are old girls.the old goldwing will live on for a long long time thanks to us and great forums like this.not honda.i love my old wing but if i ever had to get anather bike i dont know what i would end up getting. all i can say guys is you are the ones that are make this great.like joe said in a ather post.I CANT BELIVE A 30 BIKE HAS GOTTEN ME TO dam joe i forgot how you said that.anyway THANK YOU DAN for a great forum i am truly greatful to you and the new ppl i have gotten to know.in short.its not if your bike is destined to fail you ITS JUST A BIKE.its the jurny that you are on.For me only in this forum has a broken part ever been a good thing and if it would keep on braking down i know were i can trun to.THE MAMBERS THAT MAKE A GOLDWING GREAT.THANK YOU
