it is on the left side, has a blk and red wire going to it. I thought is was an aftermarket horn of somekind. Touched the leads to a battery and nothing....

tried to remove it and it acts like it is part of that metal fairing trim..

What is it and is it needed?

thanks

Alarm hm.. wasn't hooked up - def. looked added - they drilled a hole in the fairing and put the flex around the wires.

Getting it off is another story. I took the screw out, reefed on it and it wouldn't budge - didn't see any double stick tape - nothing so I don't know how it is attached - will have another look at that.

thanks

Looks like part of an alarm system to me also.. they may have used some glue of some kind. can you see the back side?? there may be some more screws or glue on that side. If all else fails just cut off the wires and forget it...If it is a major concern and you want it gone iI may have a replacement part laying around here, just let me know anf I will look it up.
