i went though all when i changed the forks ......im not sure whats going on but its not that.....im diffinutly glad that i have another titled frame ....the difference in feel is huge.....

i could realy man handle the 82 last night and it was fun .....it would peg the 80mph speedo quickly .....and on my 82 it registers between 3900-4000 rpm at 70mph

so i have some final touches to do on the switch this morming and im very pleased that i have a good running dresser to ride though the winter and i didnt have to spend any funds on it to get there :good: :whistling:

With building the doghouse and all I'm sure you can dig up a couple straight edges. Check the wheel alignment on the 83 on the center stand. I'd use a fine ruler and measure to the rims front and back of each to the straightedge. If they line up then the issue is probably stiffness somewhere. Mabe something needs lube? Did you put fresh tires on her? I can't recall. It may simply be the 83 has more rake too.

stait edges and such are going to have to wait awhile as im working hard on the doghouse though this pleasent weather .......

its going to be hard to to give up this peppy 82 interstate ....once i get the 83 mortor right im probably going to put it in the 82 frame as this package is just the way i like it ....i think the 83 will be fine once its running right ......but all going to have to play second fiddle to the doghouse

I'm with everybody else Joe, and think you are nuts. That said, you do know your wings and I admire the fact that you are not afraid to try ANYTHING!!!!!
I agree on the windshield on the STD- does NOT make it a dresser- just makes it a lot more fun to ride. Go to nakedgoldwings.com and you'll find that a windshield doesn't disqualify you from being naked. This applies to the bike and not your personal attire!!!
