Hi all! I recently acquired an '83 Goldwing with a Vetter Terraplane sidecar. Only 21,000 miles on the rig, so it's been sitting a lot. Just going through it now to be sure it's road worthy and looking forward to getting out on it whenever winter comes to an end. :| She runs great! Some new shocks, oil change, timing belts, etc. and should be good to go!

Thanks for all the welcomes!

What are your thoughts about the timing belts? They don't have a lot of miles on them (21,000) but I'd guess they're originals. Should I replace them due to their age?
 
Welcome to Classics from PA - nice set-up!

Change them. For the cost of the belts and the amount and the potentional problems they could cause, it isn't worth it to not change them.
 
Howdy,, from what i have learned on here,, I would say you will get a resounding "yes" on the timing belt change out. Due to age,, and likely quality
 
Very nice rig. Very nice rig you have there. If you do the timing belts. I suggest you read through the procedures in the manuals and some of the threads here. Until you are comfortable you KNOW how. One tooth off can sometimes be okay and sometimes be big problems.
