Greetings,
I own a 1978 GL1000 that I bought from the original owner about 10 years ago. It had 3500 miles on the clock when purchased and hadn't been on the road for the better part of 35 years. It has all kinds of fun period gadgetry on it and runs perfectly. Interestingly there's a plaque affixed behind the windscreen that says it was built for Bill Maxwell, which I have been told he was the President of the Gold Wing owner's association in 1978! Maybe someone on here can confirm it. At any rate, it is my daily rider and is one of my favorite motorbikes I own.
Cheers,
gt
