This Wing has been lowered. Did the owner loosen the triple tree and have the top of the forks sticking up a few inches above normal?

How do you think this would affect the ride? Also, I'm guessing he has removed the fairing lowers due to clearance issues? Even though I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to Classic Wings I love this look, and would consider doing this with my new wing if it's an 83.

It looks nice, but I also wonder how it handles... Did they have to shorten the side and center stands? Was the rear lowered the same amount to keep the front end geometry unchanged? There's a lot less suspension travel, the driveline angle is changed...What is used for rear shocks? An interesting concept...

Lower center of gravity, and easier mount and dismount. Exposed engine parts closer to the ground, and don't lean too far over!

Yeah, no travel on the forks.

Seems like lowered that much by raising the tubes in the clamps we'd see the tubes sticking up behind the fairing.
Wonder if the owner modified the springs to shorten them?

He might have put spacers under the springs and then pressed the fork cap back on, but that would make it very stiff in the front. It doesn't appear to have enough clearance.

A closer look at the handlebars in relation to the faux tank and I am under the opinion that only the fairing was lowered.

I did lower my front end down the forks 1 1/2" in the triple tree and you cannot see or tell anything from the side but at least I can plant my feet on the ground now!

How does it handle now?

 That's kinda what I wuz thinkin, too....The handlebars certainly look way high in relation to the fairing....

I think the bars look higher because judging by the angle of the grips, the bars are raised up in the clamps. I have mine up a bit and tops of the bars looking at that angle is about the same height as the fairing in that pic.

It's a really odd angle picture. Bars appear to be pushed forward to almost vertical and fairing does seem low but that too could just be the angle of the camera.

Got us curious now ~O~.

Where did you get the picture?

Phoenix Craigslist...I have memorized every used Wing for sale west of Colorado. I know it's going to sell before I have my money ready...but if it hasn't, I'm going to buy it. :lust:
