looking for any suggestions as to the best way to store my 1100 till I have time to pull the engine and repair/replace the stator and whatever other tweaking I might decide to do once she's opened up. Actually, any suggestions as to "tweaking" would be interesting, read a little about cam milling, what about porting and polishing intakes n exhaust, upgrade clutch basket .....? .......back to mothballs, better to drain fuel tank and carbs dry or dump a good dose of stabilizer into it and just drain it out when I get around to pulling motor out of frame, also, thinking maybe put it on the jack and lift it just off the ground? Its all I've got for this season ....... later ......Crowe

i would say dry on the carbs ....strip the fuff off plastic and all ....taking the motor out is not that bad ....this way you get complete experience on how everything works ....the motor is a pleasure to work on when you can use a hoist to pick it up and down... its the way I do it :swoon:

Just throw some moth balls into the clovebox and trunk and cover it with a tarp :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy: :smilie_happy:

I would drain the fuel tank completely and put in fuel containing 0 ethanol and add stabilizer and run the carbs empty.
Moth balls seem like a good plan to keep rodents away.

As for the other mods when your ready it would be best to start another thread asking about those so we can keep threads easy to search and more topic specific.

(Thread title renamed to add "storage".)
