we got up sunday morning and went and checked out of the motel, I would stay there again. then we went looking for a place to have breakfast and found falling rock café and book store. we both had a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. jeff had coffee. I found out a long time agothat coffee makes me sleepy so i had a pepsi cola. that big red and chrome metal drum is a 100yr old coffee roaster, its just for show.
after breakfast we got back on m-28 going west then too m-94 south. it was another great day to be wearing a joe rocket phoenix 3.0 jacket without the liner. traffic was light and cousin jeff was going slow by cousin jeff standards, he was doing the speed limit or less most of the time. when we arrived in Manistique, mi. the roads were wet, looked like it had rained over night. I'm glad we missed the rain! we went looking for the next light house on jeff's list
we walked the beach to get to the path that takes you out to the lighthouse and followed the path back to the board walk to get back to the parking lot
just a few more and we got back on the dirt road, I had a deer run out in front of me on the way out. after the IBA run I was hoping I was done with deer
back on pavement we went straight to st. ignace, one in town I stopped for fuel. jeff saw a little mom and pop store / restaurant that sold pastee's and went there, once I was done refueling I went over to join him. I asked the million dollar question to the lady selling the paste's and was told that the only paste's without onions were the ones filled with fruit. my lunch was an apple paste, cheetoe's, and a root beer but I got to watch jeff eat a real pastee
nice pics! the last picture you posted ,, I recognize,, it's Naubinway,, looking east,, a friend bought 40 acres on the south side of hwy. 2 and I have been there many times. You can buy white fish fresh off the fishing boats.. also a popular watering hole there,,, (of course I've never been in it)..
