Once again I need your help. I finally got a set of pegs and a shifter for my bike. However, something's not right about the left side. The foot peg sits tilted up so that when you put your foot on it, it wants to fold.

Either I am missing some hardware (removed boards which were on the bike when I got it) , or I have the wrong peg. The other side is perfect, and the shifter is perfect, this damn left peg is a pig.

I'll take a picture and post it so you can see what I'm talking about - later.

It definitely folds down, it's for the left side, I just suspect that it may be for a different model, other than gl1100. Because of the angle it has the fold is a little to the rear, as well.

try removing it, turn it 180, and reinstall it. It is possible to have the rubber wrong side up too.

Here are some pictures of my current headache!!

I owned a '75 Wing in 1975, and upgraded to an '84 Interstate in 1984, but never played with models between those years, so my knowledge is limited.

I built Limy bikes: Nortons, and Triumphs to play with, but the Wing was the only ride for trips. Neither of the Wings ever needed major work, just lube, tuning, and polishing.

Looking at your peg close up it looks like the wrong peg like the chrome pin in your picture is pointing upward.
I wonder if it's a passenger peg?

This is a pic of my '83 left, it sits at a different angle more like your right side peg.

I agree, your's does have the right angle, and the curved shaft does seem longer. I'm convinced the left peg is a left peg, just not for my baby. The little tit that locks against the post on the frame is located in a different position than other pegs I've been viewing online.

It's damn close to being right, but that only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades, not bikes.

Yours is definately not an 1100 left peg. Nice bike!!!

That's what was on mine before I took them off and put on floorboards. Was there a lower grade peg for the Standards because I have seen both styles of pegs on the 1100's?
