I just tore down the 83 engine that I have. I was told it had 190000 miles on it but that just can’t be. The cylinders only have .02 taper in them and bearings are good. So I’m going to put new rings, and do the valves and heads and put her back together.

Here is my question, I want to do something a little different. I’m thinking I want the engine gloss black, leaving the valve covers, and timing belt covers polished. I was going to also do the differential gloss black. I was going to shoot if with a urethane paint. Right now I’m planning all the plastic to be Candy red metallic. What do you guys think, leave the engine grey or black or some other color like mating the plastic?
 
I like the original plan. Black motor in gloss looks great. Maybe the coolant tubes and fittings polished and clear coated.
