I just bought my first bike this weekend and I love it! It's a 1983 GL1100 Aspencade. The color is wineberry red. My first question on the bike is about the radio. I was told by the previous owner that at some point the tuner was removed, not sure why. Are these tuners problematic? Is it something I should replace or just replace the entire stereo? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Howdy clintstearns and welcome to CGW. You just might be kinfolk. My last name is Starnes and one of the variations all through my lineage is the name Stearns among many others. I'm not to up on radio's but there are some on here that are and should be chiming in soon. Hope you enjoy your new ride.

Welcome to the forums! As for the factory stereo...if you really like good tunes just scrap it and get a newer auto stereo. The original stereos are weak and over 30 yrs old. Yes there is a place that refurbishes them but do you really wanna dump $100+ into thirty year old tech?

Hi neighbor.
I'm from Hudsonville.
Try Crutchfield. They are a mail order company and have every
kind of stereo.
