We've tried various things on the forum to help keep things organized, some have worked, some have backfired.
All in all I think we've all done a pretty good job in that regard, catching problems before they become bigger problems.

One thing in particular I feel we need to work on is new members posting.

Though we'd prefer a new member post an introduction in the new member forum as their very first post we should remember why we have this forum in the first place, to help each other with their bike.

If a guy goes through all the trouble to create an account here he's most likely looking for answers to a problem he's having. We should address the problem he's having even though it may not be in the right forum or in the new member forum. We still need to make him feel welcome.
What I'm trying to say is we've all done a very good job at creating a warm and fuzzy place to discuss these bikes in a family type atmosphere, there's no reason we can't "bend" the rules.

For the most part new members post an intro in the new member forum but some don't but let's face it, coming into a new place is a bit overwhelming.
I'm OK if a new guy posts an intro and in the same post is asking how to fix his tailights.
Depending on how the thread progresses from there would decide if we should move it or not.

What I'm also trying to say is we want returning members to add to our group and the camaraderie we have.
If we stick to a set rule, some will not return.
We DO NOT want to over moderate. Doing so will destroy the forum.

Take it easy, enjoy the posts, get to know one another as you would meeting someone in person the first time and the forum will continue to run smooth like it has.

No apology required I know of. If I'd notice anything I'd contact by pm as I expect all admins or mods would.
You're good. :good:
