Hey ya'll...for the first time since 2011, Mama & I are taking a VACASHUN!!! :yahoo:
Work issue have kept me from getting any time for a vacation, but it's time...I'm tard of werking!!
Anyway, Mama has suggested we go to New Mexico, for some reason. :headscratch: My original plan was to go visit with my Dad, but.....he's gone now, so other places are up for discussion.
Ma & Pa used to live in Ruidoso, and we've been there once. Mama liked it up there, and wants to shop for turquoise stuff, but I would rather not drive that far. Carlsbad is also in the running, but not sure if there is enough stuff there to keep my attention.

Sooooo...anyone have any suggestions, or experience with any particular areas up yonder that might be fun for an old fart and his bride? Somethin that is not all the way on the other side of the state, perhaps? :hihihi:

I lived in Cloudcroft, 9000 feet in elevation, and not far from Ruidoso. A smaller town, smaller crowds, and plenty of turquoise stuff. Nice 'n' cool in Summer. When ya goin?

Tentative schedule is sometime in May.... :beg:
Not interested in playin da ponies are nuttin. One of the reasons my folks lived in Ruidoso was for that. Dad owned a couple of Thoroughbreds he raced up there(and other places). Just not my cup-o-tea. I just wanna get out and do something interesting that we can't do around the D/FW area...like get lost or something..... :smilie_happy:
We both enjoy antiquing, and looking for old toys.....Corvettes for me, dolls & jewelry for Mama. I remember going to Cloudcroft....I was prolly 12-13 years old at the time. Only thing I really remember is gettin in trouble for racing rented horses around town....those folks don't take to kindly to that sorta stuff....
