I propose a group hug. I talked to Joedrum today and i really enjoyed our hour long chat. Every guy i know has very strong opinions on what works. I LOVE to argue with my son about Apple versus Microsoft.

In the end, everyone makes a decision base on a few things:
What are your current and future needs.
What were your past experiences with various products
What is your ability to create what you feel is a better product in your own garage
What can you afford.

We are never going to offer a $100 ignition. I am sincerely impressed that some of you can make your own ignition systems.
I'd love to hang out for awhile and learn how to do i myself. However, there is still a need for a better ignition to the general riding public.
Being on this forum has improved our future product already. Joedrum is helping me upgrade our kits to take "clean" power from the battery and bypass all the stock Honda wiring. After listening to his explanation of why this would be important, i am purchasing a few relays and hopefully we can add this feature as standard equipment once we get it dialed.

Thank you Joe!

id say that a lot of big talk ...the whole idea that the hall effect doesnt control the heat issue at all ...makes optical with advance cures and coil control better than all systems is huge .....a dyna S ignition is totally on the opposite end and has huge heat problems at idle

Mine lasted from the 14th week of 1986 until recently Joe,how bad can that be ,eh? even when it was droping 3&4 only did it once in while.
$76 gets me a brand spankin new one from Dyna.
My point is.DynaS has proved to be a good product, for what it does...

fetscheese dynas are good ignition and probably the successful oldwing after market iggy out for oldwings but its tech is from the 70s .....

oldwings never had something like the c5 iggy at any price ....the flexability of the system is huge to me ...the idea that a oldwing from the 70s can have a super moderin iggy of the best tech out there it price is not bad ...it is my hope that the longevity thing is going to be rock solid as the oldwing motors are ...turning it into a more powerful bike through out the rpm range to pish these great bikes like never before

your friend with the bike that gose 120 in second gear ...must be the be ALL MAN ON PLANET for getting the most out of a bike .... :nea:  :smilie_happy:

that was good :smilie_happy: one thing for sure I know what a dyna can do ....and its weaknesses .....its is like dyna has tried to upgrade much over the yrs till now there new dyne S ignition is different in its moduals size ...for yrs there units have had to be modified some to get them to time right ....im assuming the new style finally addresses this point after yrs of the moduals being to big to set right on oldwings without carving the moduals down some to get closer together ...ive also seen where this wasn't a problem making me think the magnets are not placed and held the same inside the units ...they seem to vary ..there magnets are effected by heat and vibration on its magnetisum cause it to fire differently under these condition differently than when cold at the time timing is set ...im sure its not much but it is the effects that happen with hall sensors type ignitions .....

I don't see this being a problem with the c5 at all ...I don't go after things and gamble on things that are what I see as worth it ...but you guys know I gamble pretty hard on my projects and don't have all the answers through the projects till done ...that is what gambling is a hunch that something can be a lot better if tried ....

I feel this way about the c5 and for me its going to get tried on hooch ....i feel like in just the guy that can can test this c5 iggy with no agenda at all but the intrest to what it can do for our oldwings ....so that's what im doing along with others who have made a choice to get one

a complete dyna unit on ebay at the cheapest price ive seen is about 270$ ...to me what the c5 is and dose over dynas 70 tech product makes it cheap in comparison bigtime to me ....

i hope to have this installed in hooch before the meet and greet for us all to look at and hear run ...

Well good for you cm85, I hope you do in fact bring it all together and make it work as cheaply as your claiming but just as I asked for a picture from you of the stator driven external alternator after swearing to confidentiality and never getting a reply from you, this too sounds like just talk.

Seriously, if your going to make claims let's see whatchya got. This forum is all about helping each other out. Are you not on the same page?

Wow Dan. I told you of my charging set-up in confidence. Why bust it out like this? What are you trying to gain in doing it?

I've nothing to prove to anyone via any picture.
As for helping each other, ...I do my share many times to a fault Dan. To imply otherwise is absurd.
Apparently we are on different pages, as I do not always have the time to perch myself on this, or any other Internet Forum.

Generally I post of things when the time is ready to post of them, whatever the topic. Call it a posting "style". When my charging set-up has proven itself bullet-proof to me then I will post of it. My posting style may not mesh with everyone's cure from boredom. I'll post of that particular addition (because, as you know, ...it is not a "conversion") when I'm damn-well ready to post of it and not a muscled-minute sooner.

So that we are clear and character issue's are kept in positive light, I will not be offering anything "for sale".
I hate to see these character assassination attempts crop-up out of personality conflicts. Such a waste of time and effort when they do.

C5, Good Luck with ignition. Options are always good.
Let me know when I can help again Dan.
Thanks,
Steve.

This auction just ended. The best DYNA system for a GL1000 is the DYNA III.

Cm85, my point is you make claims and in the same post bashing a product that actually does exist.
We all can say whatever we want and dream of the possibilities but if your going to make claims then you better be ready to back them up.

I will not allow the members here to be misled by false information.

I'm locking this thread so this BS doesn't continue.
Your next post on this forum must be PM's to me substantiating your claims. Any posts in the open forums will be removed and if you do, your account will be removed.
