Welcome! Another newbe here. Had problem with the starter on my 82 GL1100 on the second ride. Lucky enough it quit after I stalled it just up the street from the house. (I did say newbe, right?). After probing the internet and several forums, I decided to remove the starter and try cleaning it myself. It worked!
