Welcome Crowesnest13 from Tennessee. We all benefit from each others knowledge here. There are quite a few that have seem to excel in certain areas, some have fought the carb demons sucessfully and are eager to share the experience. Others are painters (I am not one of those) and are quite skilled in the black arts of the "Rattle Can". I have sucessfully tackled and wrestled the electrical / electronic gremlins on my bike. As everyone has stated previously, there is a veritable cesspool of knowledge on this site. All that is asked is to give back to the group occationally by sharing.

Again, welcome to CGW!

:salute:

Steve

......speaking of a cow welcoming you into town, well, I live in the country just outside of Harvard Ill, "the milk capital of the world" ... back in the 40's - 50's .... well there is a life size fiberglass effigy of a Gurnsey Cow welcoming all to town. A real delight for tourist and photo ops .... and as a sidebar, gotta say I'm glad I found this site, lotta info and a whole lotta of camaraderie ..... Crowe

Hello Crowsnest this is Lefty from Durango CO welcoming you and seconding your response to the Grand Tetons and all that amazing country.

I took an amazing ride from here to Yosi to the CA coast up the coast to Seattle then across the North Cascade Hwy into ID and over the mountain to MT to Yellow Stone down through the Tetons and on through the Flaming Gorge in UT. Six weeks from when I started I rolled in to Durango. Some country we live in.

Hi Mac.....you live in a great place! My wife recently took a transfer to there. Loves it for riding though it is more expensive than we can afford to live.........even though she has a good job. Dilemma.....we had to buy an old trailer to afford to have a place there...the nice thing is that she has the same view that the people in the million dollar homes have... And a great motorcycle commute to work....

Watch for a really good looking lady in red on a red Nighthawk or a red BMW Funduro... :lust:
That's my sweetie......

Hi Brian,

We are almost neighbors. Was your wife's job only a temporary assignment? Will you come up for the rally over Labor Day weekend?

Let's ride,

Mac

Hi Mac...she is there until she transfers out...hoping to do that one day and transfer to Silver City but no way to know when that might be....meanwhile it is a great place for her and I like to cool off a bit up there in the foothills.

No, I'm going to pass on the rally....I don't much do crowds and the only rallies I attend any more are sidecar rallies...nice and small and manageable with a very nice group of folks...mostly slightly crazy, wannabe engineers and fabricators...a great group of folks and the rallies are pretty much family oriented...more an old codger's speed.

If you give me a ping off group and leave your phone number I will meet you for coffee when I am up there though...
Cheers,
Brian
