I'm an old school north co. guy...for those of u familiar w/this part of the planet. Anyhoo, trying to get RIDING again after a considerable absence. Found this site just trolling around and was instantly hooked. Nice cool forum for Riders and bike nuts like me in general. Thanks for the "Welcome Wagon" guys! Took me longer to get back on here than I planned, but that happens when you got 1 leg &get in ass-kickin contests. Anyhoo, I got an 83 Aspie 1100. Won't start or run w/out full choke and locked throt. Makes a pretty good knock...hope it's spark cuz ain't reglar. Fraid 2 run it 2 sync carbs, cuz of knock. If it ain't spark...well...Changed all fluids, plugs, and tank. Sure kud uz a hand fellers! Tanx. Ajay. LOL.

well with the stmtoms you talking it probably carbs and spark related ...couple threads going on now about carbs work and some good posts about it

Sounds like the big issue here is the carbs. They need pulled and cleaned. Fortunately for you the jets unscrew on the 83 carbs.
