I'm years into ownership of a Frankenstein, and probably my first signing into this site. The bike is a '77 with an '80 engine. I want it to have the 78-79 shelter and gauges and the suspension from a 1200. Don't yet know if that's even possible. I'm a bloomin' idiot, but it's the way I approach life. Love the Oldwings. Lovingly called Big Bird as it is non-factory yellow. In the grand scheme of things not even that big. The paint, the seat, the fairing, the engine, not my doing, but I like the flavor very much. So guys, go ahead, tell me what a fool I am. If it was just a 'wing, I might not be interested. Right now, I'm trying to finish piecing together an Aspencade front end. It's amazing the number of folks on ebay who don't know anything about the difference between an Interstate and an Aspencade. Makes for a lot of frustration...and questions. Don't get me started about not knowing whether the rear suspension will swap. I want the later wheels. Not into wire spokes at all. So, that's about it. Fire away.
