I have a GL 1100I, I can't get it started. Battery is charged, when I turn
the key the dash should light up and lights come on. but nothing happens. I
push the starter button and there is no response what so ever. Any one
have an idea where to look.

Have you looked at the dogbone fuse to the right of the battery?

file.php

Check your fuse panel inside the false tank.... you may have a couple of issues... blown fuses, loose fuses, bad connection at fuse ends.. our the real fun one.. a blown fuse at the fuse cap connection..(happened to me)... also like just posted below.. bad doggone fuse on the solenoid... fuses are cheap... you cash use a wire to jumper the fuse connections.. verifies power to the fuse panel..

Welcome from Southern California!

I'm thinking ignition switch, if the fuses are good. In the Accessory position, the radio and taillight work, but nothing else. The other contacts could be bad, or the wiring connection could be loose or dirty. Not a lot of fun to get to, but I'm betting there's your problem.

taillights and dash are one fuse.... headlights are another.. radio maybe bypass the fuse panel and power comes from the main power after the ignition switch.. on back of the fuse panel there is a heavier black (iirc) wire that is the main power to the panel.. meter that to a bolt and with key on should see 12 volts.. Dan may know for sure if it is black or not.. then from there every thing runs through fuses... and thinking about ignition switch did it go ask the way to the right? .. your switch may not be assembled correctly.. like the contacts were replaced and not properly... and to check out turn bars fully left or right and try to turn key all the way to the left and see if the bars lock at lock or accessory position..

You may already have this fixed I guess but when mine acted up like this, I found some burnt up wires behind the fairing counterweight that went from the ignition switch to the main fuse board, you don't have to remove the fairing to get to it, just drop it down onto the front fender.
