Wow, amazing....really great Naval flying.......thanks Dan.
I worked for a contractor doing base operations for the Coast Guard base on Kodiak island and it would really amaze me how those troops would trundle those C130s and helos out on the runway with howling sideways winds in the middle of a winter storm, when I could not even keep pallets out on my loading dock without them getting blown away...and these guys and gals would take off like it was a summer day....not much happens for the Coasties on a nice day...

definately some skilled flying. The helicopter was not designed for shipboard ops. They have a winch in the belly and a stanchion on the flight deck, and well during combat ops, they are winched down to the deck. Its about a 30 second op, and as about as fun as well its hairey
