I do own ATV jack.
I think I removed the heat shield once, for painting. PO had aluminum duct tape on it for better shielding.
If you remove it permanently, wouldn't it allow hot air to hit your legs?
It's nice in the winter but...
I was thinking of adding vents somewhere so that I can use that hot air during the winter.
 
After about 5 hours of hard labor, the engine is out.

Next to open the rear engine cover.
While I am in there, should I also check the alternator drive as the shop manual says?
Or just leave it to avoid possible screw-ups?
