I have oil dripping from the bottom of the FP drive. The thick gasket between the head and the FP drive looks like it is in good shape.

I think it is coming from the tac drive. Does that seem possible or probable? If so is there a way of pulling the tac drive gear out and then putting a new seal in? Is it just a case of putting some vice grips on the flat thing and pulling hard?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this will help, but pic from fiche. Looks like you could pull it all out. I think I used a screw into the seal to pull it on one of my 1000's. I think I used an o-ring for a while before getting the seal.

Interesting, Eric. If I could get it apart I would go with a new seal. Never thought of putting screw into seal. I was trying to put the flat thing, that drives the tac cable, in the vice and pulling but I backed off because I didn't want to damage it.

Winter has set in here so may as well try and fix it right.

Dan, for the Oring fix, did you leave the seal in place and put an Oring on top of it and push the tac cable connector down against it? Any idea what thickness of Oring you used? :good:

I used a o ring that fit the diameter of the hole then pushed the cable down tight against it.
