I think we all regret selling a bike after it's gone. :Awe: I had a '77 Suzuki GS750 that I put a lot of time and money into that I sold to buy a new bike about 4 years ago. Always regretted selling that thing because the money you get goes and the bike is gone forever...or at least that is what I thought.

I was looking in Kijiji the other day and spotted my bike. Looked just like when I sold it. I couldn't believe my eyes. Long story short; it is now sitting in my garage. Only has about 3000 km more than when I sold it. Turns out the guy who bought it had a crash ( different bike) and hasn't been riding for last couple of years. He took very good care of it too. :music:

Here it is. Very original including nice original paint, runs like a top.

Congratulations! I'd love to find my old suzuki or just one like it. I always wished I'd kept the old gt550.

Great to hear that you managed to get back the one that you had let get away. Nice looking Suzuki :good: keep an eye on that wiring

I have always been a Suzuki man , I traded a 1980 GS750 for my 1980 GL1100 Goldwing , ( the Trike now ) the only problem the GS Suzuki's had was Wiring & Charging problems , I had a friend Hand Wind me a Stator for mine and I soldered the connections ... fixed it ! and for the GT550 , I have had 3 or 4 of them back in the days , and I have owned 11 GT750 Water Buffalo's ... I LOVED the old 3 Cyl. 2 stroke Suzuki's , GT380 , GT550 , GT750 they was so quick they would Jerk the Taste out of your mouth . . . :smilie_happy:

I bought the GS750 after I had sold my BSA 650. Compared to that BSA the Suzuki was the smoothest running bike I had owned and I couldn't understand when people talked about buzzy inline 4's. How having ridden the GL1100 for the past few years and I can't believe how much vibration I feel on the GS. I guess I've been spoiled.

the GS750 Suzuki , 1977 , 78 , & 79 had 8 Valves , and easy to tell them by the O.H.V camshaft end covers are Round . in 1980 the one I traded for the Goldwing , was a 16 Valve motor , easy to tell because the Cam end covers are Rectangular , all Suzuki did was make a better Head for the Motor . any motor with 4 Vales per piston , is a Lot Stronger , and Smoother than a 2 Valve per piston motor , on the 1980 GS750 I had , with me and my wife , riding close to level ground , 5th gear at 25 mph it would not even stumble to just roll on the power . that was the very first thing i noticed the day I traded for the 1980 GL1100 , with me and her on the Goldwing at 25 mph , I need to be no higher than 2nd. gear , unless it stumbles , I only wish either of my Goldwings had the pulling power , of a GS750 Suzuki . ... Sad , but True .

The GS750 was introduced in late 1976 and had wire wheels and a single disc on the front. In '78 they went to alloy wheels and dual discs. So, being a '77, my bike is one of the first GS750s. It is all original right down to the rubber mounted mirrors and original paint.

It has petina for sure where the paint is worn and there is a chip here and there but I kind of like that. Shows it has been used.

Of course they have improved them over the years but, to me, this one is special. :fiddle:

the Goldwings have a lot more weight to pull , but I have always wondered why Honda never made at least a special order 8 valve head ??? there is no telling what that one thing would do for the pulling power of a Goldwing. if a man had access to the equipment it would take to Mold some special Goldwing heads.............. ohhhhhhhhh MAN , talk about making a Fortune ..... ohhhhh there I go again , wondering off ....... :smilie_happy:

Nice to find it again, I couldn't afford to buy back many of mine, the FJ maybe but it is probably beat after so many years. The Suzuki`s didn't get much respect till the GS models , Vance and Hines really put them on the map then the Kantana and GSXR added to it, the import bikes most wanted the Kawasaki`s,Yamaha`s and Honda`s. Suzuki had some good bikes though.
Congrats.
