Yeah this is way off topic but can't seem to get logged onto my sled page tonite to ask about this topic. Noticed on the gas tank of my sled (snowmobile) that the filler neck has a crack in it where the threads are for the gas cap, has anyone ever did a plastic repair that will stand up to gasoline ? It's been like this for years but while I have it out of the sled I thought maybe I could give it a fixin. :builder: :builder: :builder:
Thanks Winger 82

Don't have access to a plastic welder

the plastic gas tank is made of ABS plastic i bet if so the ABS glue will seal it and as long as it has time to dry the gas will not affect it. :good: :good: :eek:k: :eek:k:

Where might I be able to find this ABS glue ??
Thanks

ABS glue is nothing more than acetone with ABS mixed in and I got mine from Home Depot.

It comes in black and yellow color. Make sure you clean the pieces first. Paint should be removed, wipe it down with acetone or mek first. Keep your fingers out of it. It goes through skin membranes and has to be removed by the liver, which is needed to be in top form for the other toxins in the form of libations we pour down in our own tanks. If you were to handle rat poison before using the acetone, some of it could be taken in through the skin. Also, if you drip it on painted surfaces, it usually removes all paint.
