well ive got this 1100 motor that was in bad shape and frooze up ...ive now got it unstuck and new head gaskits ...also have the electrics worked out and have fire in the hole.....out of the four cylinders no3 is down on compression ....i also have it hooked up to a two barrle carb and a pvc manifold ...the carb is probaly a little big maybe stromberg bendrix ww i think it is ..couldnt find any specs on it but seems to be working....it has fired a few times but not run yet ...i have the low compression cylinder full of ATF right now ....

looking for any suggestions on raising the weak cylinder compression and carb thoughts it has two mix screws ...is one for air and one for gas ....are they both gas or air ...im not sure myself ...the carb is a strait two barrle ...both barrles work the same not progressive...any thoughts and cridisisium wanted :hihihi:

By low compression what are we talking about, below 90, 50, 0?
May come up with run time unless it's zero which points to a bad valve.

I don't know anything about that carb but usually turning jet screws in leans the mixture.

Got pics????

it will probably be monday before im back on it...its going to be a generator motor hopefuly ...it will be quite the laugh when guys see this setup :smilie_happy: cant wait to post a pic

two barrel two air/fuel mix screws. One for each barrel. In leans the mix out richens. Look closely at the butterflies inside and open the throttle. If it's two stage one barrel will open first. That will be the side that is used at idle and Midrange. So will be the first and most critical side to adjust the air/ fuel mix. The secondary side will need adjusted after midrange.

Hey Joe just think what you could hook up with that besides a generator,....washing machine, dryer, buzz saw, cooling ceiling fan, ETC,....... never ending!! :heat: 5 speed to boot!! WoW!! :hihihi: :hi: Later :hi: ,Bob

wait till you see bob ....i took some off the wall liberties with manifold design ...so its one of those who knows deal ...but like you said im conveince that its will be ideal smooth power base with the oldwing motor

It amazes me what people have used these engines for,... 3 wheel car with everything from a/c and more, a contest tractor pull, and I think someone pot one in a golf cart but the best I liked was an old 3 wheel mail truck!! Have a good one  !! Bob

I thought I saw somewhere that somebody was using a GW engine for an ultralight, too.

Maybe an experimental home build? I think the rule to call it an ultra light is you must be able to pick up the entire craft unassisted.

That might be true, but I know here in New Jersey there were some with Suburu engines.

And I'm pretty sure in Mad Max the ultralight that goofy looking guy was flying couldn't be lifted by one person.
