The radio on my 82 aspencade will not hold the pre set statons when shut off then turned back on.It holds them while the key is on ,but then loses them when truned off.Ive checked all he fuses and wires, everthing looks ok. Does receiver have anything to do with this problem,??

Radio has a separate wire to hold power for the presets. If connected full time to hold the presets it will drain the battery when not in use. Some have disconnected that wire so the battery holds charge.

Thanks for the help. Any idea which wire and where at. Need a starting spot, dont have a repair manual yet ,working on it

The receiver/tuner could be at fault, but since it's working otherwise, I'd suspect a lack of backup power. Here's a schematic of the radio/cb system - I wish I had a better scan:

Great" thanks for all the help. Now we got the schematic going to see if we can get it fixed tomorrow

Radio has two power wires. Sounds like they are both connected to the same feed. One is for the presets and needs power all the time. Try looking for the power wires.
