:head bang: :head bang: I've used my MitiVac TWICE now; doing the right front first, then the rear. I STILL have to pump the pedal a lot to get brake pressure, indicating air in the lines...
whassa matter? what'd I miss? Since I'm pulling my trailer to Joe's, I need the brakes to be tip top. :beg: :beg: Any and all tips/tricks/suggestions are welcomed :beg: :beg:
 
Did you tip the calipers to get the bleeders at the very top? If not there may be a little air left in the calipers.
 
+1 on that response. I also push the pistons all the way in, clamp them and then bleed. This method has never failed me (even as recently as last Tuesday!)

VERY IMPORTANT POINT......never let the reservoir go below half full!!! You will suck air in otherwise!!
 
I've learned that on the 1800, if the rear pins hang up at all, you will loose the firm pedal rapidly. Also, keeping pressure on the brakes overnight using a weight or bungee seems to permit a more thorough job of bleeding the next day.
 
If you still have the problem, fill the reservoir and bleed the system like you normally do. If you still persists, pump up the break and then put a weight on the brake pedal and walk away for a few hours or overnight. The air will eventually return to the reservoir and your breaks will be bled.

That little return hole allows fluid to return to the reservior so it will also allow air to do the same thing. I shook my head the first time I tried it and said there is no way it will work. I ate my words.
 
:music: :music: :music: You guys rock..... yesterday I pumped the heck out of the brake pedal and rigged a way to keep it down all night - this morning when I checked it VOILA! I have brakes again! :clapping:

one last update...Karen and I went for a ride yesterday; gotta tell ya, the brake pedal has never worked so well :music:
The combination of EBC pads, braided S/S lines and your 'pump and leave it' bleeding technique has left me with some great brakes!

I'm thinking I need to change break lines pretty soon if I ever decide to start pulling a trailer.
Brian - don't wait for a trailer to change brake lines...it's an easy job to replace with braided s/s and it does make a difference....
