FINALLY back on the road!!! New gasket on the right side, cam gasket and grommets and she runs great...EXCEPT my other half is bitching it’s a little bumpy on the back; Have the shocks at 57psi and she’s not holding anything for solid pressure.

Has anyone removed the air shocks and replaced them with something else on these bikes? Maybe a more progressive car style shock? If so can ya point me in that direction?

I am not sure about the 1200, But for certain they must be out there. I replaced my worn out air shocks with a progressive style coil spring shock that was also a 1/2" lower than the OEM shocks to help get the seat a bit lower on my 1100. I bought them on Ebay. They have been great!

I put those on my 1200 wing before I gave it to my niece along with progressive springs up front. I would have gotten 416 air shocks but I don't carry passengers

I just rebuilt mine a month ago.

I was debating doing that but like the idea of a stiffer ride in the back so she doesn’t bitch as much though the rebuild on them doesn’t look severely complex all things considered but knowing my luck with this bike so far; I think I’m just gonna go with some sort of car shock for it if I can find the right ones that will fit

I installed a new spring kit as well as new seals and fluid. I think there was option to buy a new set of inner dampener valves, but I just did the springs, seals, and fluid.
The ride on my rebuild is much stiffer now, especially with added air inflation.

I took the air shocks off my '85 LTD when I bought it. Put Progressive series 12 14.5" with progressive springs Part numbers are 76-1206B and 76-1364B for the springs. Have done two up touring around BC and from Victoria to LA and back. These work well. I leave them on the highest setting for solo and two up touring. Have been installed for 3 years and still going strong.
