I'm going to get my wheels for my 79 powder coated. I already pulled the bearings out but I cant figure out how to get the dampers out of the back wheel, anybody know a trick how to pull them out?

yes cuss and swear more bleed some ..threaten it with a hammer....try some wd 40 around the edge maybe ...the last time i did this i ready for big battle and they practicly fell out

Well, I tried pulling these things out and no way, these dampers are in there for good. The only way I think they can come out is to heat with a torch and that will scrap the dampers. I guess I will just sand blast and go from there.

Quite a few have powder coated with them still in the rim with no I'll effects. A couple have remove them and used the hard plastic that body bushings are made of, polyethylene?? Do a search with Cyborg as tge author at ngw and you should find the car model he used.
