I'm cheap! There I admit it...
When I installed a relay for the fuel pump on my '81 I tried to use the relay and harness from my donor bike. For whatever reason, that didn't work, so I went to the local auto parts store and started buying parts. First was the relay, then the relay socket, then some more wire, then some of this and finally some of that. It wasn't long before I was walking out after dropping $40.00.
When I got home I looked at what I was doing and decided to save some money by not using the relay socket - instead I used wire terminals. When I was just about finished, I didn't like that I had bare terminals exposed, so I covered them with shrink wrap.
What I originally intended was to save a buck. In the end, I think it looks better.
