Hi guy's, I would like to know, will hard bags from a GL1100 fit a GL1000 I'm talking about the complet kit, rack and case.

They can be "MADE" to fit. Not a direct bolt and go though.

Dangit Ron! I had the plans for my 1000 all figured out. Naked, black, silver, and chrome and then you go and show a 1000 dressed up with the 1100 bags. Now I am not sure anymore!

When you say they can be made to fit, what is the work involved to fit? is it just cutting parts or do you have to do some welding.

In a nutshell, the 1100 frame they were made for is longer and narrower than the 1000 frame. has to be 'spread' to attach at the shock mounts and I made "bolt-on" brackets for the attachments on the rear of the frame and at the passenger foot pegs. Brackets cut to fit and painted to match.

I have got 1200 luggage on my 1100 - top box and side bags. Same problems but easily solved by repositioning bolt mount lugs with a welder. This effectively doubled the carrying capacity for when my wife and I go touring.
