I am changing my water pump on the Gold Witch and changing all of the seals, gaskets etc. But I've done a jackassery. The picture below shows the inside of the water pump housing and I have circled in yellow what I thought was another seal to replace. It's not. I have chipped away at it pretty good and if it was a seal would have to be replaced. It's not.

I think that it is a sealant between the two motor halves and my question is do you think I have damaged anything? If so, can I patch it with something? I don't think I need to do anything but thought I would run it by you all first.

I found out it is part of the sealant as I mentioned. I'm a DA at times and go where men fear to tread. I think I'm fine. Will get the bike running today.

The part that you circled is the front bearing cup/support for the transmission mainshaft. it's about an inch deep, and has a rubber coating around it to seal it. It'll only come out if the case is split. Unless you've severely damaged it - cracked or made a hole - you should be fine.
