The motor is an inline, flathead 6 cylinder Chris Craft KL (Hercules Industrial) engine rated at 105 BHP (Brake Horespower). BHP is power out the engine, not at the propeller. There is a 1:1 RPM from engine to propeller since it has a clutch, but no gear reduction.

Would an 1100 engine work? I do not think the torque curve of the 1100 engine would work since the torque curve id higher at upper RPM. The KL engine develops torque at low RPM through the whole RPM range.

An 1800 FI engine might work!

All except the youngest (who just turned 21). She works weekends so it is hard for her to get down the shore to the boat. We pull the boat out next week so she will have to wait.

All of the Grandkids have been out on her in the ocean. They had a blast!

Yes. We are actually pulling out next weekend. We have quite a bit of topside sanding and varnishing work to do plus the marina wants all boats out by October 15. We will be away that weekend so we have to pull this weekend. It is better to pull now because we are heading into the low humidity level days which are best for varnishing. It will be a lot of work.

But, I will be using the Slug with her trailer for a lot of these trips to the storage place! Filling the trailer with tools, tarps and paint is a lot easier then the trunk of the car.
