Got to werk today, and see this 20+ foot long dinosaur in the shop....what was it, you say? Welllll....how-sa-bout a SWEEEEET '64 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 series, 429 engined, 9 passenger sedan? Not a limo, but sure looks like one. I dint have a camera, so I'm taking it tomorrow for pics. Trans took a doo-doo, so I get to fix it up....sweeeet! :yahoo:
But for now, it looks almost zackly like this un....almost the same color, too. This pic is a pink car(repainted), but the one at the shop is the original Salmon color...faded somewhat, but still the correct color. Pics tomorrow!

Sweet ride!..Always loved the caddies with the little fins, even 4 doors are fine with me. In about 1982 I was out doing my route and found a 69 Olds 98 triple black with 40K on the clock, 4 doors with all options, I had to buy it and made allot of memories with it. Sadly gas prices and long commute forced me to trade it for a VW scirocco, year later traded that for my old hot rod 72 satellite I had sold years before..I wish I had a big garage and kept them all, typical story for us 50 plus guys I suppose.

I had one just like it when I was 18, only mine was a creme color. That boat just floated down the road at about 80 miles an hour. The faster you went the smoother the ride. :music:

Just after high school, I inherited a big car - the family station wagon. A 1970 Chevy Kingswood.
One day, a kid in an old Mustang cut in front of me and I rear-ended him. The Chevy suffered a
broken headlight and cracked plastic grille. The Mustang was totaled.

It looked like this when it was new:

By the time I got it, it was battered, beaten, rusty, and had nearly 200K miles on it, so I took a
hacksaw and hatchet to it (wish I'd had a cutting torch!), and made it into this:

It was street legal. Texas required a wiper, but not a windshield. :smilie_happy:
Life was so simple then...

'69 Ford LTD Country Squire! Now that was a wagon!! Whole family fit in there PLUS some neighborhood kids! That car seated 9 people (in 9 seat belts) long before anyone heard of a minivan or SUV! With the 390 engine and AMX(?) transmission, that car could pass anything but a gas station! (average 9 MPG) :whip: :hihihi:

Otay....here am da pichurs. I put them on my web page instead of loading them here and taking up space.... :hihihi:

Nice ride, boy it looks long, gotta love those jump seats, with those tucked away and all the leg room. If cars could talk..sure would like to hear it`s story.

Story, ya say? Here's what I know...
Only history the guy gave us was he had gone to a dealership back in the '80's to buy a particular big block '69 Chevelle. There was some sort of engine problem with the Chevelle, and he saw this Cad sitting there....so he bought it instead. I'm sure it was in a little better shape at that time than it is now, but, this thing is fairly clean, and the body is arrow straight. Has a little rust around the fender skirts, but that's it. Interior is clean, but worn. Shows only 70+ thou on the odo. It has had at least one repaint, but the original color was Salmon. Strange color combo with the grey-ish interior, but it works. It's been sitting since '01, so it's got some dust accumulated on it, but...so do I....
Car is fully loaded, rear heat-A/C, 'letric everything, remote mirrors(cable operated), rear seat foot rests, jump seats in the middle that fold down from the back of the front seat, for nine passengers total. Has an 8-track player mounted in the glove box, even...with tapes! :music2:
Engine fires right up and sounds good...no knocks/rattles, etc. Trans was toast....I'll take care of that, tho. I can't wait to go drive this monster! Pull up to some yuppie in a beemer and say....."Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon?"

When I was in high school, my neighbor had a dark blue '59 - we called it the Batmobile. About once a month, she would call and ask me for a jump start, so I'd push that 5,000-pound beast out of her driveway, and hook it up to my '67 Mustang. After about 10 minutes of charging, the monster engine would slowly turn over, and would finally start. My poor little Mustang was giving all the juice it could give, and it was just enough. She refused to get a new battery. A broken ball joint finally convinced her to get a new car. It took a while, but I grew to miss that old Caddy.

Used to get big old mostly chevy trades through my chevy car salesman father in law.Always had at least one or two expensive to have fixed problems, like brake parts, front end parts, water,& fuel pumps, alternator's,etc, all cheap to fix & drive a year or two till he found another old tank to fix, & sell the old one, drove for free for years, always easy to sell the old one, someone always needs a good running vehicle, & my old cars always ran like a top.Speed limit was 70, ran at 90 or better away from town, never a thought as smooth as could be.
