I have a facebook account but for the life of me I can't understand what use it is to me.

Because when someone you know set up an account with them, FB hijacked their address book and spammed every address there an invite to join FB. Someone you know "unknowingly" emailed you an invitation to join FB. And when you did, everyone in your address book got an email invite from you to join FB.

See how it works?

We setup Facebook accounts because we have found it to be a way to keep up with our kids that have grown up and moved to Florida and western Virginia plus we have missionary friends overseas and it is easy to keep up with everyone. We limit our account access severely and don't get the non-sense stuff many people seem to like???? We also use Skype to video call our kids plus our international friends. An example, during the crisis in Tunsia, we were able to keep contact with our friend there via Facebook and watched as all of the unrest unfolded and we could keep fairly good contact with her until her government would lock FB.

At this time, I would not want my account linked with my FB account. I like this forum in all of it's formats and extras without having to worry about non-sense. (Other than our own non-sense :smilie_happy: )

Yeah I keep getting friend requests from people I've never heard of and I ask my wife, she never heard of them either.

I tagged all FB email as spam so it goes directly to trash, no time for it.
